History for 'We Three Kings'

The Christmas carol We Three Kings of Orient Are was written by Reverend John Henry Hopkins, Jr. in 1857 for a Christmas pageant.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." Matt 2:1-2

Fun Facts for 'We Three Kings'

There may have been more that three kings. Yep, its true! There were three gifts presented to the baby Jesus, though the Bible does not record how many Kings there were. It is believed however, that there were more than three, as they would have preferred to travel in a large group both for protection and as a sign of their importance.
