Lyrics for 'The Derby Ram'

As I was going to Derby,
Upon a market day.
I spied the biggest ram, sir,
That ever fed on hay.
We'll sing la lum la lay,
We'll sing la lum la lay.
I spied the biggest ram, sir,
That ever fed on hay.

This ram was fat behind sir,
This ram was fat before.
This ram was nine feet round sir,
If not a little more.
We'll sing la lum la lay,
We'll sing la lum la lay.
I spied the biggest ram, sir,
That ever fed on hay.

His horns upon this ram grew,
They reached up to the sky.
The eagles made their nests here,
You’d hear the young ones cry.
We'll sing la lum la lay,
We'll sing la lum la lay.
The eagles made their nests here,
You'd hear the young ones cry.
