Ion Ivanovici (1845-1902) was a Romanian military band leader and composer. His interest in music began when he was given a flute. He later learned to play the clarinet. In 1900, he was appointed to the post of Inspector of Military Music. He held that position for the remainer of his life. He is most remembered for his waltz, Waves of the Danube.
