Instead, he idealized the concert waltz, which he enjoyed performing in the elegant and exclusive art-loving salons of Paris. “Grande Valse Brillante” Op. 18 in particular, with its many charming melodic ideas and moods, became one of Chopin’s most popular waltzes.
