History for 'Solomon Grundy'

Solomon Grundy has changed very little since it was first published by James Orchard Halliwell in 1842. DC Comics featured a character based on this nursery rhyme named Cyrus Gold/Solomon Grundy. He was created in 1944 as an adversary for the Green Lantern and foe to Batman and Superman.
