About

Bulletin Board Posters
The bulletin board posters are purposefully sparse to help students focus on the main points and give them the best chance of remembering them. Included is a composer of the month poster, two portraits of the composer (small-8.5x11 and large-11x14.5), fun facts poster, and top hits poster.

Best quality, borderless printing is recommended for the posters if your printer has that capability.

Word Search
The composer word search is designed to build reading skills, so it does not include the search words. Students must search for keywords in the Hey Kids, Meet George Frideric Handel biography (included) to find the words they feel are important about the composer. The "About" page of this bundle lists the search words.

Meet the Composer Job Application
Students complete this job application for George Frideric Handel, including all the facts they learned from reading his biography.

Hallelujah Chorus Listening Map
The listening map is a two page icon/lyrics-based listening map for the Hallelujah Chorus.

Hallelujah Chorus Recorder Play-Along
Students learn Hallelujah Chorus on recorder and then play along with a string orchestra. (Click "Look Inside" to listen to recording.) Sheet music and play-along Mp3's (practice tempo and performance tempo) included. Key: D Major. Level: Beginner/Easy.

The Story of Handel's Messiah
The Story of Handel's Messiah expresses Handel's love of God and his passion for writing music that would deliver scripture to the masses in a largely illiterate world. When used in a public school setting some edits may need to be made.

Example: "The idea of composing an oratorio based on Jennens libretto intrigued Handel as illiteracy in his day was widespread and copies of the Bible were expensive and rare. It was his hope that his oratorio would bring the good news of the Scripture to everyone that heard his music."

About
This page includes instructions for assembly of the large composer poster, the word search worksheet search words, and information about the resources included in this composer pack.

How to Open a ZIP File
A ZIP file is a compressed folder that contains multiple files. Windows and Mac OSX operating systems can open ZIP files with no additional software. Mobile devices will require an app.

Windows: Right-click on the unopened ZIP folder, and choose "Extract All" from the menu. Select a destination (the folder where you want to store the unzipped file). Click "Extract."

Mac OSX: Double-click the unopened ZIP. Your file should extract automatically. Click to open.

iPhone/iPad: If you're opening a ZIP file on an iPhone or iPad you'll need to download and install an app. We recommend iZip.
