Minuet in G is commonly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. However, scholarship now indicates that the work is that of German composer and organist Christian Petzold (1677 - July 2, 1733). Petzold is believed to have composed two of the pieces from the Anna Magdalena Bach Notebook: "Minuet in G Major" and its partner piece, "Minuet in G minor".
